Abstract: This research explores gender disparities in enrollment and completion rates within technical education programs in Nigeria. Despite efforts to promote gender equity in education, significant disparities persist, particularly in technical fields. The study aims to (1) identify factors contributing to gender gaps in enrollment, (2) analyze barriers influencing completion rates among male and female students, and (3) propose strategies to mitigate these disparities. A survey research design is chosen to gather data comprehensively across different technical education institutions. A sample size of 500 students, selected through purposive sampling, will represent diverse demographics and geographical locations within Kano State. Case studies will be utilized to explore institutional contexts where gender equity initiatives have shown success. Findings indicated that socio-cultural norms, inadequate support systems, and gender stereotypes significantly affect enrollment and completion rates. Recommendations include implementing targeted recruitment strategies, enhancing support services tailored to gender-specific needs, and promoting inclusive policies and practices to foster equal opportunities in technical education.
